Ever had a bit of time to spare, but not quite enough to participate in a normal leveling party? Or for a change of pace, just wanted to chill out and indulge in some light-hearted gaming with friends and fellow linkshell members?
If you answered in the affirmative to at least one of the above questions, then Fields of Valor is just what the doctor ordered. For a small fraction of your time (friends optional), you can enjoy fuss-free yet rewarding adventuring. Get more out of each Vana’dielian day with Fields of Valor!
How to Play
Using a “Field Manual” located in any of several areas will bring up a menu from which players can select a training regime of their choice. After that, it’s just a matter of venturing forth and slaying the enemies listed in the regime. Those wishing to enjoy Fields of Valor in a party simply need to make sure they all select the same training regime.
- Rewards
In Fields of Valor, the spoils and experience acquired in the natural course of slaying monsters will be yours to keep. In addition, upon successful completion of each training regime, players will be further rewarded for their fortitude with experience and a corresponding amount of gil, as well as “tabs”—points exclusive for use in Fields of Valor. These points can be exchanged for items and services that will surely benefit adventurers roughing it out in the field.

Olá pessoal! Mais uma vez um artigo que traz muitas novidades e especulações (um ótimo tópico para um MoogleCast).
Publiquei estes dois artigos no site do MoogleCast e falam sobre o sistema de Moblin Maze Mongers (Dungeon de jogadores para jogadores), Fields of Valor (um sistema parecido com Garrison), Novos itens, Relic Armors de Scholar e Dancer além dos novos Merits points de Scholar e muito mais!

Reunião de hoje - Resumo

Olá,
Hoje à tarde aconteceu a reunião que eu tinha marcado (agradeço a todos os que estavam presentes) e estou postando um resumo do que foi discutido. O assunto em pauta era único: as mudanças nas mecânicas de experience party no update de setembro (que vai sair nessa segunda-feira) e o que a LS faria nisso.
Como todos devem saber, três mudanças importantíssimas vão ocorrer a partir do update de amanhã:
- Level Sync: o líder da party poderá reduzir o level dos membros do grupo para o lv de um dos jogadores (jogador base). Assim, jogadores de lvs muito diferentes poderão upar juntos sem prejuízo no xp. Mínimo de lv. 10.
- Como consequência, um personagem sob efeito de restrição de lv poderá manter seus equips, mesmo que eles sejam de lv superior ao seu level reduzido. Claro, os stats sofrerão restrições.
- Conforme palavras da SE, “(…) derrotar monstros Easy Prey e Decent Challenge passará a dar quantias substancialmente maiores de exp para recompensar melhor os jogadores (…)”.
Desde que foram divulgadas essas informações a comunidade de FFXI ficou alvoroçada, já que esas mudanças alteram radicalmente as mecânicas de experience party. Apesar de ainda ficar tudo na especulação, eu imaginei e levantei as seguintes questões:
- O jogador poderá aceitar invite de qq party de lv menor ou igual ao seu. Qualquer party poderá invitar um jogador de lv igual ou superior ao seu. Em teoria o tempo de espera lfp deverá ficar menor para jobs muito procurados: um party leader terá mais opções para montar a party; em contrapartida, jobs de pouca procura sofrerão concorrência de qq jogador que tenha um job mais popular independente do lv: um party leader não precisará invitar “aquele cara com job ruim já que ele é o único lfp disponível”.
- Os camps mais populares, onde se upa mais rápido deverão ficar overcrowded por causa do fluxo de jogadores de lv. mais alto neles. Da mesma forma, os camps mais “chatos” e lentos deverão esvaziar, pois os jogadores terão a opção de upar em outros camps mais ágeis, mesmo que não sejam do lv. usual deles. Haverá a tendência de se montar parties em camps incomuns hoje em dia.
- Ocorrerão mais spam parties, por causa do xp aumentado para mobs mais fracos. De novo, poderão ser usados camps incomuns.
Essas mudanças são radicais, mas ainda só pudemos imaginar o que vai acontecer. Por isso, eu dei a seguinte idéia:
Durante a primeira semana pós-update os membros da LS irão se dedicar exclusivamente a montar experience parties e testar as novidades em todos os aspectos: redução de lv, uso de equip no lv reduzido, spam parties, novos camps, etc. O objetivo é testar tudo, TUDO MESMO. Nos mais variados levels e camps. Explorar todas as possibilidades.
Os membros presentes (Leandro, Tripster, Mahr e Kamik, além de mim, Alex) ficaram interessados e apoiaram a idéia. Seph já estava a par disso de antemão e concorda tb. Por isso, ficou decidido que a partir de terça-feira (amanhã o servidor deverá estar tão lotado que vai ser impossível fazer o update) e durante a semana inteira (provavelmente até domingo) os jogadores que estiverem online vão se dedicar exclusivamente a isso.

O update já tem data: segunda-feira agora, dia 8. Os servers esarão em manutenção das 14 às 19h 13 às 18h (horário de Brasília) e, como usual, após o período de manutenção o programa cliente terá uma atualização automática. Além disso o Playonline tb passará por manutenção no mesmo horário, não vai adiantar logar pra ficar jogando Tetra enquanto espera! ![]()
A sugestão pra quem nunca passou por isso: desencanem de tentar fazer o update na segunda-feira, vai estar tão congestionado que simplesmente não vai dar pra fazer nada. Sugiro fazer o update na terça-feira.
September Version Update Preview: Part Two (09/03/2008)

Adventurers of all stripes can look forward to enhancements galore in the upcoming September version update, designed to make questing in Vana’diel more gratifying than ever!
If the first preview wasn’t enough to whet your appetite, today we have the latest scoop on increased experience and the Myriad Arms of Balrahn quest sequence that will at long last allow players to forge these mysterious and highly anticipated mythic weapons.
Experience Boost
Loyal readers already know that the new Level Sync system and automatic scaling-down of equipment will add a heretofore unheard-of level of freedom to party-based adventuring, but that isn’t the least of it! With the new version update, there will be more experience to be had as well!
Previously, enemies classified as “easy prey” or “a decent challenge” would provide a relatively paltry amount of experience points, leaving career-minded adventurers understandably dismayed. No more, however! Vanquishing these monsters will now lead to substantially larger helpings of EXP, to better reward players for braving the challenges these still-formidable foes present.
“Nyzul Isle Investigation” Gets an Overhaul
The mythic weapon and new weapon skill quests have previously (07/29/2008) been introduced in this space. Today, we’d like to bring you the latest details on these quests that have the potential to transform you into one of the most lethal adventurers in the realm.
The conditions for embarking upon the new weapon skill quests will be twofold: you must be enlisted as a mercenary in Salaheem’s Sentinels, and you must be in possession of the job-specific weapon from the “Nyzul Isle Investigation” Assault mission. The requirements for completing these quests will vary depending on how far you have progressed in Nyzul Isle, so it will behoove adventurers to be thorough in their reconnaissance of that murky labyrinth.
At the same time, an assortment of tweaks will be made to ensure that the mission goes smoothly:
[#1] Greatly increased chance of receiving your job-specific weapon!
Previously, only the nastiest adversaries in the darkest, dankest reaches of Nyzul Isle (Level 100) would part with the job-specific weapons adventurers seek. Now, there is a possibility that foes on other floors will drop these weapons as well, while defeating the denizens of Level 100 will guarantee you two job-specific weapons: one randomly selected, and one matching the job of the player who operated the Rune of Transfer (the latter regardless of whether or not that player also possesses the Runic Key.)
[#2] Progress saved to Runic Disc to be retained!
Previously, your recorded data would be reset upon completing Level 100 of the mission, reducing your Runic Disc to a rather expensive paperweight until such time as you begin the mission anew. No longer, however, as your progress data will now remain intact even after cleansing the Isle of its most deadly inhabitants, allowing you to return to the most challenging levels for another chance at the weapon you seek!
[#3] Players who have already cleared Level 100 need not fear!
Brave adventurers who have already explored every nook and cranny of Nyzul Isle, do not fear—your achievements will not go for naught! Even if your progress data has already been cleared, the Runic Key itself will now serve as an express ticket to any level of the Isle (in increments of five) up to Level 96, giving you free rein to traverse the area as you see fit!
[#4] Progress data to be stored for all party members!
With the new version update, floor data will be recorded and updated for all players, not only those who directly operate the Rune of Transfer.
For their progress data to be updated, players must begin the mission on a floor equal to or lesser than the maximum level currently recorded on their disc. Provided this condition is met, progress data will automatically be updated each time a previously uncharted level is completed.
That sums up the major changes planned for the Nyzul Isle Investigation in the upcoming version update.
Players who have already embarked upon the quest sequence for their mythic weapon may tackle the new weapon skill quests concurrently. Those players who have already received their Nyzul weapon and entrusted it to Abquhbah, however, are encouraged to travel back to the Isle and acquire the weapon once more.
* Abquhbah will return your weapon if asked politely, but please note that this will result in all mythic weapon quest data from “Duties, Tasks, and Deeds” onward being cleared from your record.

Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for more streamlined adventuring—the September version update is just around the corner! Continuing in the tradition of enhancing creature comforts in your Vana’dielian lifestyle, we’re proud to introduce a number of adjustments and additions scheduled to take place.
Seal Storage
Previous version updates have ushered in numerous improvements to in-game storage, with the Mog Locker and the Mog Safe having been bestowed with increased capacity and several furnishings receiving enhancement tweaks thus far. But that’s not all we have to offer! In next month’s update, the development team will take the hassle of storing beastmen’s and Kindred’s seals out of your hands, and put it into those of orb-dispensing NPC Shami. Through the natural course of gameplay, adventurers will come into possession of not inconsiderable quantities of the abovementioned seals which take up storage space like all other items. From the next version update, however, adventurers will no longer need to leave stacks of seals scattered about their Mog House, waiting to be stepped on by unwary guests to grimacing, painful results. So, whether you have just one or hundreds, swing over with all those cumbersome seals to see Shami at his usual hangout in Port Jeuno and he’ll take care of the rest.
*Shami will hold onto seals traded to him with white-knuckled tenacity, but will gladly furnish adventurers with lovely orbs as recompense.
Getting Around in Past Vana’diel
At present, the dominant mode of transport in past Vana’diel is the teleportation service requiring payment in Allied Notes. However, the NPCs based in the three nations offering this service would prioritize their own safety and go into hiding during Campaign battles, greatly inconveniencing adventurers wishing to travel outside of town. In addressing this issue, the development team has decided to bolster up these NPCs with a much-needed dose of courage so that they will no longer abandon their posts in the face of a beastman invasion.
In addition to the above, rental chocobos will finally be made available for use in areas introduced in the Wings of the Goddess expansion. Players who fulfill the three conditions below will be able to pay Allied Notes to rent a chocobo at their leisure, regardless of the current war climate:
1) Be level 20 or above.
2) Be in possession of a chocobo license.
3) Be affiliated with an allied nation.
*Please note that chocobo whistle usage and digging will not be possible in past Vana’diel.

Mais informações sobre o update de setembro/2008 que se aproxima e tem tudo para agradar a todos! Neste novo anúncio da SE (Square-Enix) o recurso Level Sync foi revelado! Confira…

O recurso de Level Sync torna possível tanto jogadores de níveis próximos, que comumente reuniriam uma party para pontos de experiência (XP) quanto jogadores com grande diferença entre levels possam jogar juntos sem perda de pontos de XP! Este sistema consiste em o lider da party informar qual o jogador que será referência como level base para a party, o que automaticamente reduz o level de todos os membros para o nível deste personagem! Isso torna possível que jogadores de nível elevado possam fazer party com seus amigos de níveis menos avançados, o que é uma grande novidade e promete ser muito bem recebido entre os jogadores!

Outra grande novidade é que não será mais necessário possui itens de todos os níveis no jogo quando utilizando o recurso de Level Sync. Ao ativar o Level Sync na party, os itens com nível superior ao level base terão seus status reduzidos ou até mesmo nulos, dependendo da diferença entre o level base e o level do item.

Version Update Notification

The next FINAL FANTASY XI Version Update has been scheduled to take place in early September. The development team is currently hard at work to bring you the following, just to name a few items:
- The continuing episodes of nation quests for the Wings of the Goddess expansion.
- Major battle-related tweaks and additions.
- Adjustments to fellows and Campaign.
We will be posting more detailed information on the next version update right here on Topics as it becomes available, so stay tuned!
